GINGER OF DUNBAR | One of the early imports, this mare is directly descended on male and female sides from stock from the JA Ranch in the Palo Duro Canyon, the oldest ranch in the Texas Panhandle, established in the 1870's. The founding of the ranch formed the basis of the historical novel (and later film) 'Lonesome Dove'. The ranch has been passed down through the family and since it is still run horseback, their beautiful and practical ranch horses are proven in work in the time honoured way, as well as in the show pen.
